On March 30, 2022, from 2:00–3:00 p.m. Eastern, National Association of Realtors held its virtual Real Estate Forecast Summit: Commercial Update event, which provided an outlook on the changing commercial real estate market.

Our Take:
Industrial and multifamily/apartments are on fire. This area is considered a seller’s market. Retail and Office are still behind but coming back strong. One strong point as mentioned in the video is suburban retail. This sector is stronger than urban and easier to lease out. I think the commercial market will continue to improve throughout this year. However, I do think certain office buildings might look into rezoning residential if our housing market continues to lack inventory. I think now is a better time to jump into the commercial market vs residential if you are an investor.
